X-rings are approximately square in cross-section with annular grooves. The placement of x-rings in the groove corresponds to the dimensions of classic o-rings, so they can be interchanged. Just like o-rings, x-rings are defined by inner diameter (d) and thickness (h).

Product detailed description

It is a seal suitable for both static and dynamic sealing. X-rings arose from the need to remove the non-Advantages o-rings - which is to roll them in the groove. X-rings have an approximately square cross section with annular grooves. The arrangement of the x-rings in the groove corresponds to the dimensions of conventional o-rings, so they can be interchanged. As with o-rings, x-rings are defined by their inner diameter (d) and thickness (h). The advantages of using x-rings are in particular their greater use for rotary sealing, greater stability in the bay and less radial preload in the groove. This reduces friction and wear and extends the life of the seal.

X-rings can be used to seal the groove in static sealing up to 5 MPa, when used with a retaining ring up to 40 MPa. For dynamic sealing pressures up to 5 MPa apply, when using a retaining ring up to 20?MPa.

X-rings are manufactured from conventional materials such as NBR (butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber) and FPM (fluorrubber). However, they can also be made of EPDM material, silicone or other rubbers. As with o-rings, x-rings are manufactured according to DIN 3770.
