The O-ring is the most widespread method of sealing because it does not require space and its installation is easy very simple. With the correct design of the grooves and suitably selected material fulfills long-term its function both statically and dynamically use within the range of temperatures permitted for the respective rubber material.
Vinyl Silicone Rubber (MVQ, VMQ, SI)
O-rings made from MVQ material are used mainly in applications where there is need for big temperature range (-55°C up to +200°C). They are not however suited for sealing hot water or vapor. Their resistance to oil is comparable to NBR O-rings, however they have worse mechanical properties.
